The last words on 2010

Be sure to check out the final Riders Road from Mike Langford.  Thanks for adding this new feature this year – everyone loved it!  Also, new photos are loaded from Friday night.

Scott’s last blog..

Today will be a week since we have gotten home. I still don’t think I have come down from the high that I got from the ride. To be able to do something that you love and also to be able to help make a difference in someone’s life all at the same time, it does not get much better then that. I often think back on how much different my life would have been if it was not for Jim and Country’s. Sure, I got the wanting to help people genes from my Dad and Mom and they nurtured that through my young life, but Country’s is what has enable me to be able to do all the things that I have had the privilege to do. Jim is the one who set the standards of giving back to the community and taking care of the people who have taken care of us all these years. It is also all the great employees that give of their time and hard work that enable us to try and give back as much as we receive. Without them, there would never have been a Miracle Ride. From the start, I don’t think anyone had any idea that the ride would go in the direction that it has. I guess that just goes to show that it’s best to follow your heart and not the GPS.

The Miracle Riders are home raising $80,659 and the donations kept coming!

Last night, all 11 of our wonderful Miracle Riders returned to Columbus in grand fashion as they made their way on the Return Ride on the Riverwalk that ended at the final Miracle Rider Uptown Columbus Concert.  At the special intermission presentation, Councilman Skip Henderson and CPD Chief Ricky Boren welcomed the guys home and thanked them for their safe travels.  President and CEO of The Medical Center, Lance Duke, thanked the Miracle Riders for all of their hard work and willingness to “go the distance” for the children of our community.  Regional Operations Director for Circle K, Larry Markham and Neonatologist, Dr. David Levine presented a check on behalf of all the sponsors to Lance Duke in the amount of $80,659!  Scott then proceeded to tell the audience that if everyone gave just a dollar right then, they would well exceed their goal and money started making its way to the stage!  Ralph Kingrey and Ronnie Wilson both pledged $2,500 from their businesses toward the final numbers.

Day 21 – May 27, 2010

Day 21 - Hills of West Virginia

Riders Road is ready – don’t miss it!

See everyone tonight for the Return Ride on the Riverwalk and at the Miracle Rider Uptown Concert on Broadway!

Every where we go the hearts of the people we meet just seem to keep on giving.  Even though I got to experience this last year it still touches me that that there is more good in the world then bad, you just have to put yourself out there and it will find you.

Day 20 – May 26, 2010

Miracle Riders were in late last night and up early this morning trying to make their hospital visit on time in Charlotte, NC this afternoon.   Below is today’s Riders Road by Mike Langford.

Don’t forget about the Miracle Rider Homecoming Concert in Uptown Columbus tomorrow night beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Broadway.  DNR will be playing and they are a fantastic band.  Also, all bikers are invited to ride in with the Miracle Riders on the Riverwalk.  Registration information is found at the Homecoming link on the right.  See you all there!
