Thank you (Brad Hansen)

mayor talking to crowd

I told Scott a few days before the ride was over that this was my best ride of the three I have completed. I can’t put my finger on just one or two things that made it different. It was a fantastic ride from start to finish. We had a great bunch of guys. We met great people across this country, we saw beautiful country and we had a mixture of good and bad weather. When we return from our trip we always get the question, “are you going to do it again?” The previous years’ answer has been “ask me again in a few months.” This year my answer is you bet I am going next year.

I am sometimes called the “stat man”. It has nothing to do with my smarts because that is fairly limited or much of what I knew is no longer there.  It has more to do with I like to surf the internet and when I hear different questions from the guys, I write them down, look it up that night and report the answer sometime the next day. It comes in pretty handy on those days when we begin to tire and the 5-hour energy is not working as well as we would like, so we strike up conversations on the CB. My final bit of information for the guys this year is based on my 70 fuel receipts. We used 2,580 gallons of fuel between the 12 bikes and the highest we paid was $4.899 in Stamford, Ct.

$210,000 in donations! Are you kidding me? There are so many people to thank for the success of this years’ ride. Everyone that gave, everyone that helped spread the word of the Childrens Miracle Network, the hospital staff, our spouses, all the people who saw us off and the fantastic crowd who were downtown at our return. I want to give a special thank you to McCauley Propeller Systems for their sponsorship and bike wrap that I got to show across the country.

Thank you everyone.

Donations are still coming in! I hope we’ll have the final by the wrap up on the 22nd! Anyone want to venture a guess?

What a fabulous job you guys have done! My guess was going to be $180,000.00 and that was surpassed. Thank you for your dedication to the cause.
