Day 15 (Scott)

grainger 2

From the very first ride it has been about the people. It’s hard to explain that to someone who has not ever been on the trip with us. I think Ray puts it best in what he says. ” the only stranger is the person I haven’t meet”. I’m not sure if it’s the bikes or 12 guys maybe it’s just our southern smiles that makes people want to come over and talk to us. It could be just the looks of curiosity on their faces that draws us over to them. What ever it is, we do not make a stop without meeting someone. The part that surprises the first time riders is how nice the people are that we meet. It does not matter what part of the country we are in. From small one horse gas stations to the big city’s. To me I feel people truly want to be friendly, just some don’t want to take the chance to say “hi y’all” to a complete stranger. You should give it a try today. Go out of your way and say hello to someone. You never know, you might make a new friend. We meet lots of new friends today at Grainger. We did not get to meet Mr Granger himself but for me I felt like I meet him through all the folks that work with him. You can tell when you go into a place what the person in charge is like just by the way all of the staff acts. Now to do that with thousands of people working with you and have them all on the same page as you is remarkable. I could feel the compassion and the pride with each of the people we came into contact with. Thank you for a great stop. Thank you Brian for sharing your company with us. See what meeting a total stranger did for ride. That’s why we ride

Scott, you know how you are always telling Rochelle that no one wants to hear her story? I think they do! ;) I always talk to people in lines. Some look at you and smile while others start talking! Love it! Thanks to Grainger and all the sponsors! Awesome visit yesterday.

Great comments Scott. People want to reach out to one another and the ride has a way of pulling that out of them. The folks in downtown Columbus we excited last night when we talked about you guys coming home next Friday. It seemed like to whole town was yelling about the Miracle Ride last night. Everyone is sure looking forward to the big home coming next week. Ride Safe.

Yes Scott you hit the nail square on the head. People do with very few exceptions want to be friendly, and kind to one another. Its in our genetic makeup. God our creator, created us in his image, and he created us with compassion and Love for one another. Yes it is why we ride! Be safe my friend.
